People living in Waltham Forest can make an appointment to see a GP in the evenings and at weekends

 

Weekday evenings

GP evening appointments are available Monday to Friday from 6.30pm to 9.30pm

Evening appointments will take place at a GP practice in Leytonstone.

Who can you see at the GP Enhanced Service?

See a Doctor

You can see a GP for acute illnesses, they are able to request blood tests, referrals and issue medications

See an Advanced Nurse Practitioner (ANP)

ANPs can see a range of minor ailments in patients aged 10 and over, they can also prescribe certain medications.

Exacerbations of Asthma or COPD Colds
Sore Throats/ Tonsillitis Chesty Coughs
Chest Infections Wheeze
Shortness of breath (but still able to talk in full sentences) Ear Discharge and/or Pain 
Blocked ears Vertigo/Room spinning/Dizziness
Sinus Pain Hayfever (eyes itching/running nose)
Heart Burn Indigestion
Lower Abdo Pain Piles
Constipation Diarrhoea and vomitting
Shingles Cellulitis
Infected insect bites Infected cysts/boils
Painful big toe (Gout) Cold Sores
Funghal foot infections Ringworm
Ingrowing hair/ toenail Urinary Tract Infections (UTI) in women only
Thursh Vaginal discharge
Contraception Menstural Bleeding
See a Practice Nurse
Cervical Smear taking (25 to 64 years)

Childhood Immunisations

Ear Irrigation (aged 14 and over)

Must start olive oil or drops to the effected ear twice
a day for a minimum of 5-7 days before

Men ACWY vaccination (aged 18 - 24 years)

First year university students only

Dressings - Including removal of sutures

Dressings must be brought to the appointment

Injectable Contraception

Injection to be brought to appointment

B12 /Prostrap/ Zoladex Injections

prescription to be provided by own GP practice

Blood Pressure checks

Physical Diabetes checks

  
 

Weekend

GP, nurse and HCA weekend appointments will be available Saturday and Sunday from 8am to 8pm.

Appointments are available at three locations:

  Saturday Sunday
Chingford 10am - 4pm Closed
Leytonstone 10am - 4pm Closed
Walthamstow 8am - 8pm 8am - 8pm
